DCFS Qualifications
Assistant teacher:
- High school diploma or GED
- 19 years of age or older
Teacher:
- With 1 year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a licensed daycare center
- 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university.
- 6 of these semester hours must be in childcare, child development, or early childhood education.
- OR with no experience in a licensed daycare center, 60 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university. 6 of these semester hours must be in childcare, child development, or early childhood education.
